Coral Springs Personal Bankruptcy Lawyer
What to Bring to Your Appointment
The sooner you file for bankruptcy, the more likely you will be able to retain your personal assets. But before you can even apply, you will have to do an income analysis with an attorney. If you bring the proper materials to your first meeting at the law offices of Michelle Armstrong, we can begin your income analysis immediately.

Due to recent personal bankruptcy law changes, whether you qualify for a chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy will largely depend upon your income received during the past six months. For your first meeting at our offices, please try to bring as many of the following records as possible:
- Last 6 months proof of income: This will include pay stubs from work and any other income, including government benefits, social security benefits, pensions, unemployment, child support, and workers' compensation.
- Last 6 months of bank statements: Bring the necessary statements for all of your accounts.
- Value of your motor vehicles and a payoff statement of what you owe
- Most recent credit card statements or a recent credit report. There are free credit report services available online.
- Foreclosure documents
- Judgments: Any judgment or garnishment that has been issued against your wages or a bank account
- Your last year's income tax return with attachments, like W-2 or 1099 forms: You will have to eventually provide all of your income tax information from the past 3 years, including W-2s, 1099s, and all other attachments.
- Payoff statements for your mortgage, and a statement of any missed payments
Bringing the above listed financial information to your first meeting regarding personal bankruptcy with attorney Michelle Armstrong, will make that meeting more productive so you can start working immediately towards debt relief.
